This piece is fully mounted and framed in a 20"x16" frame.
It has taken 200 hours to complete, created entirely in dots with theaddition of coloured pencils.
 
The Greek word for Kingfisher is Halcyon, the ancient Greeks believed they built nests out of fish-bones, floating them on the sea before laying their eggs. It is said that just after the winter solstice the gods would calm the seas to protect the nests. So this is where the term 'Halcyon Days...' originated.
